HGVenture consulting

The Challenge

Develop branding for a consultancy firm entrenched in the diversity, equity, inclusion, justice (DEIJ) space.

A nuanced, fresh branding identity that’s reflective of HGV’s unique values and culture.

The Outcome

HGVenture (or HGV) is a women and minority-owned consulting firm that builds inclusive, cohesive organizations through workshops, facilitated strategic planning, and culture assessments. Co-founders Tricia Homer and Jackie Pearce Garrett have been facilitating in the DEIJ space since 2014, successfully engaging primarily white-led organizations with engagements that include organizational culture assessment, DEIJ-informed strategic planning, organizational change management, and inter-group dialogue facilitation. Through grassroots community building, Jackie and Tricia cultivated the capacity to facilitate open, honest, and results-oriented conversations that build community and connection among participants.

I collaborated with HGV to produce a brand that would resonate with their target audience of mission driven organizations, impact-focused people, non-profits, and small and large businesses. Much of their work revolves around having open (and sometimes difficult) discussions in order to enact positive lasting change. My vision for the HGV brand was to embody all of their staunch values in a nuanced, but vibrant brand identity grounded in honesty, empathy, and playfulness. I developed the entire brand including the logo, website, marketing/pitch materials and art direction for their personal photography shoots.

To add an artistic, humanistic touch, I illustrated custom iconography that utilizes delicate line work. It strikes a balance between professional, playful, and friendly.
