Impactual
Branding Identity / Creative Direction / Social Media Strategy
The Challenge
Construct a brand identity for a nonpartisan consulting firm with evolving clients, business goals, and stakeholders.
The Outcome
A bold, versatile brand that established Impactual's unique presence in the social impact space.
Impactual is a woman-owned consulting firm powered by a passionate team of strategists, organizers, and creatives. When I joined the firm in 2017, I was the fourth employee. Established by Ashley Spillane (former president of Rock the Vote) and Matt Singer (National Voter Registration Day founder), Impactual supports social responsibility and civic engagement initiatives to address some of the most pressing challenges facing society today.
The challenge was to produce a brand that appealed to all types of clients and partners: brands, nonprofits, philanthropists, celebrities, and first time voters. The redesign included strong photographic imagery and a font exploration focused on invigorating the existing brand with modern design elements.
With help from Seize Digital, we designed a fresh, adaptable brand which delivered messaging across digital channels, social media, and email. The new look and feel enabled the firm to hone a strategic voice both to internal stakeholders and external audiences. Today, the Impactual team has 17 members. Clients include MTV, Snap, Inc., Vote.org, Viacom, Refinery29, Democracy Fund, Song for Charlie, and National Fentanyl Awareness Day.
Although Impactual mainly operates as a B2B company, the founder’s vision was always to position the agency as a leader in the social impact space with a strong social media presence focused on topical information and pop culture. I helped the brand curate graphics and content that increased Instagram and Twitter followers tenfold.
